Industry: Outdoor Recreation
Services: Wayfinding & map kiosk concept and design
Highlights:
• Developed modular wayfinding signage adaptable to the growing trail system
• Designed color-coded trail maps and signs to simplify navigation for users
• Created map kiosks with modular panels for trail information, land acknowledgment, and emergency details
• Expanded wayfinding to include Ben's Playground, with custom panels for the pump track and bike park
The Ben’s Playground kiosk is part of a larger collection of trail system kiosks. The modular signage system was designed to accommodate the growing trail network, allowing for flexibility in adjusting and finessing the signs as new trails are added.
The early stages of Mirror Lake’s trail system show the community-driven efforts to build the first trails, with temporary signage and the original map featuring only three loops.
Ben’s Playground comes to life as young riders engage with the more advanced features like the pump track, helping them hone their skills while guided by instructional signage that matches the park's playful design.
As Mirror Lake continues to grow as a community hub, the park has expanded its recreational opportunities for a range of users, making it a versatile destination for the local community.
